The fee is INR 12,000 per year across all five academic years, with no variation between year one and year five and no component beyond tuition. A candidate who secures an MBBS seat at NMCH through state quota will spend INR 60,000 in total course fees over five years, plus any applicable hostel charges.

Eligibility for MBBS requires a minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at 10+2 (40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates), along with a valid NEET (UG) score. Candidates must be at least 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the admission year.

NMCH is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Clinical training takes place at Nalanda Medical College Hospital, a tertiary care government hospital in Patna that provides exposure to a high volume of medical and surgical cases. The fact that Radiodiagnosis, one of the most competed-for PG medical seats nationally, carries the same annual charge as Anatomy or Physiology is a direct result of NMCH’s government fee regulation.

All 17 MD specializations total INR 15,000 for the full three-year programme. Admission is through NEET PG, with 50% of seats allocated to the MCC All India Quota and 50% filled through Bihar state PG medical counseling. Eligibility requires a recognised MBBS degree and completion of the one-year compulsory internship.

The MD programme at NMCH combines theoretical course work with hands-on clinical or laboratory training at Nalanda Medical College Hospital. Clinical specializations including General Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiodiagnosis, and Psychiatry involve ward rounds, patient management, and procedural training under senior faculty. The MS (E.N.T.) programme at NMCH follows the same fee structure as all MD courses: three years at INR 5,000 per year, for a total of INR 15,000. Admission runs through NEET PG, with seats distributed between the MCC All India Quota and Bihar state PG medical counseling, identical to the MD admission route. The programme trains candidates in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery under the National Medical Commission framework, with clinical exposure at NMCH’s associated hospital in Patna.

PG fees at NMCH, whether MD or MS, are lower than MBBS fees at the same college. At private medical institutions, PG specialization fees often exceed UG fees substantially; at NMCH, the relationship is reversed.

NMCH Application Fees

NMCH does not levy a separate institute application or registration fee. Candidates applying for MBBS pay the NEET (UG) examination fee to NTA; candidates applying for MD or MS pay the NEET PG fee to NTA. Counseling registration fees are paid separately to MCC or the Bihar state counseling authority, depending on the quota being applied for.
